Dr. Ashley McClure

Dr. Ashley McClure is a board-certified optometrist and proud native Texan, originally from Corpus Christi. After graduating high school, she moved to San Antonio to pursue her undergraduate education, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2008.

She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2012, returning to San Antonio to begin her career in advanced medical eye care.

Dr. McClure spent the first decade of her career as the Clinical Director of a refractive surgery practice, working alongside an ophthalmologist to care for patients throughout their LASIK and vision correction journeys. This experience deepened her expertise in pre- and post-operative management and sparked a strong passion for mentoring the next generation of optometrists — a passion she continues today at The Eye Clinic.

At The Eye Clinic, Dr. McClure provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages, with a clinical focus on:

• Diabetic eye exams

• Contact lens fittings for both standard and irregular corneas

• Dry eye disease management and ocular surface therapy

• Diagnosis and co-management of various ocular diseases

Dr. McClure is known for her thoughtful, educational approach to care and her ability to make complex treatment plans approachable for patients and their families.

When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. McClure’s greatest joy is spending time with her two children. Together, they love exploring nature, trying new recipes, baking sweet treats, painting, and making memories on life’s next big adventure.
